Are YOU A Business Owner?

I love social media. It has allowed me to connect with people that I have never met before and keep up with those I have met in my journeys as a performer as well as network within the photographic and business industries. It is an amazing thing. Often I ask questions to get insight (something you should get in the habit of doing as an entrepreneur) on topics that I know I don't have the answers to or if I just want to get a different perspective and get out of my own echo chamber. So, in the spirit of this (really I'm always in the spirit of this) I asked if any business owners I know would like to be interviewed for a new vlog series I am putting together (coming soon, I promise). I got a lot of enthusiastic response which is awesome and I'm all about helping entrepreneurs with their personal branding and growing in success. Networks are indeed important y'all. Anyway, a quandary occurred. One lovely hard working woman posted she would be interested, but wasn't sure if I consider her a business. Of course I asked why. She stated because she rents studio space from someone else to teach her classes she doesn't qualify as a business. This shooketh me (I think that saying is cute). The notion that you must have a brick and mortar location to be a "business" is absolutely limiting to the potential of those that run businesses. Of course you are business even if your physical location is on your couch in your home (of course the defining requirement is pajamas and coffee with messy hair and day old makeup). Don't let the definitions of others limit you and your possibilities of your entrepreneurial aspirations and that you are only a business if you have a physical location.

Rock on with your business wherever that may be.

If you would like to be part of this interview series connect with me and we'll talk about it further.
